MY Thoughts: I'm not going to run my mouth today because I don't have time. All you need to know is top-notch storytelling will have you riveted to your chair. My only quibble is the ending seem to come together to neatly, but overall the story is good! I still can't believe this is only C.J Darlington's second book. Wow!

My thoughts: There is just something good about a Shelley Shepard Gray novel. I have my favorite three Amish fiction authors and Gray's one of them. She always jumps right into the story with characters so real they seem to walk off the page. So far, this is a great start to a promising new series.

My thoughts:I’m sure many readers will enjoy this romance, but it really wasn’t for me. However, I did enjoy the trip into New Orleans. Billerbeck paints a vivid picture of the Irish Channel in New Orleans, offering readers tons of local flavor to enjoy. But eating mud bugs or crawfish? I’ll pass thank you. I guess that leaves more for the locals. LOL
SPOILER ALERT: Do Not Read Until You Read the story. (Even though the cover gives it away.)
I’m not a big fan of love triangles used as a main plot device. I really don’t care for it in books or in movies. I feel uncomfortable with hurting one character just so another character can get what they want. Oh sure the author makes the character that’s blown off look less desirable, but he had to have something going for him for the relationship to work so long. It was her fiancé for goodness sake. Remember the one the back cover says she had “a billion reasons” why she should marry him?
What do I suggest? I would have told Katie to pray and reexamine herself. She needed to put time between the men to control her emotions. What’s so wrong about that? I know romances have to have an HEA, but being by yourself a bit can be a happy ending too. Married readers know this to be true.
When you are thinking about getting married, you should pray for WISDOM, placing those lovey dovey emotions on hold for a while. I never see it happen in books though. And let’s not get things twisted; predictable and “boring” can become predictably exciting after the wedding.
The future should be bright for Deborah Vandermark, who is now pursuing her interest in medicine alongside Dr. Christopher Clayton, who is courting her. But the lumber town is resistant to the idea of a woman physician, and she feels thwarted at every turn.
