Musing About Yesterday

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about your bookshelf…

What books did you read while in school? Were there any that you particular liked, or even hated? Did any become lifelong favourites?

I remember borrowing stacks of the Little House series and anything Beverly Clearly from the library. I still love the thought of Ramona and Beezus even if I don't read about them anymore. Solving mysteries with Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and Encyclopedia Brown were always fun.

In middle school, I read Judy Blume and
V.C. Andrews. Periodically, I'll try to read a book by Andrews, but I never finish it. The books written after her death never really appeal to me anymore.

I had other favorites growing up, but none became lifelong favorites.

You and I would have been library pals when we were kids! Or else enemies because we were always vying for the same books!

Loved Encyclopedia Brown! Desperately tried to figure them out and almost always missed some subtlety! And of course Nancy Drew and the others. And did you ever read The Happy Hollisters?

I think we would have been enemies because I know I lugged home more books than I could possibly read.

I never heard of The Happy Hollisters. Let me check Amazon.

I remember reading all of the Baby Sitter's Club books that I could get my hands on! Oh, and I became a fan of L.M. Montgomery and the Anne books around that time, too. :o)

I read ALL of the same books you did! No wonder I love your blog so much :)

Loved the Little House series too. I tried to get my daughter to read Nancy Drew, but she was more interested in Babysitter Club and Sweet Valley Twins.

I've read all those authors except VC Andrews. Yep...I can see us all duking it out over those books. *grin*
