Suggested by Simon Thomas: Have you ever been put off an author’s books after reading a biography of them? Or the reverse - a biography has made you love an author more? No, because the biographies I read are not usually about authors. However, I have read an author's blog that turned me off.
When Christian fiction book blogs were still new, an author had unkind words to say about the bloggers who read her books. I guess she thought she was writing on a private blog where only her peers could read it.
She's talented, so I read her work, but do not go out my way to purchase her books. One time in Borders, I had a copy of her book stacked with others all ready to go to the cashier. I shelved her book when I noticed I was short on money.
Would I give an author a poor review because I'm personally turned off by their personality? No. Like I mentioned, she IS talented. Just not humble that people read and put effort into blogging about her book.
On the flip side, I've gone out my way to read an author's work because of their blog.

That's unfortunate!
